ABOUT

Holistic Health Nutritionist
My name is Toni Abbruzzese, thank you for stopping by. Building a platform to be able to assist people who suffer from chronic health challenges has been a goal of mine for many years. Below is a quick timeline and highlights to paint a picture of how I got here:

1998: Diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and uterine fibroids at age 25, shortly after the birth of my daughter; I’ll spare you the details.

1998 – 2009: Endless and frustrating doctor visits, ultrasounds, other procedures, and painkillers; hysterectomy was brought up as an option, which I refused to do as I continued to research other paths. My research shifted toward whole food plant-based nutrition and how it affects different chronic diseases.

2009 – 2014: Hopeful that there is a possible solution to my problem but not ready to make the enormous mental paradigm shift; continued to suffer but prepared my very strict protocol.

2014: I had had enough and was ready to begin; implemented my carefully-crafted nutrition plan 100% and told myself I would give it 6 months and that I would be 100% compliant. Before that time was up, I had a routine ultrasound and there was no sign of any cysts or fibroids anywhere. They had all vanished! Poof!

Three giant problems have become very apparent to me over the last 20+ years:

  1. When it comes to chronic diseases, our current medical system is set up to address symptoms, not root causes.
  2. Information on how to address root causes is readily available for us if we took the time to dig; sadly, it is not general knowledge or it is simply dismissed or not viewed as serious or believable.
  3. Nutrition information in the form of headlines and/or inaccurately-interpreted data is what most of us have easy access to and rely on.

Combined, these issues keep the majority of the western population feeling like helpless victims, confused about what information to believe, what advice to follow, and endlessly dealing with problems that are oftentimes prevented, arrested, or reversed.
